Liz grew up on a multifaceted farm in Far East Gippsland. Here she developed a love for all things outdoors and not only honed her skills of machinery and shovel operation but also experienced the pros and cons of working with nature. She got to enjoy the vision her great grandfather had for the property, with a great variety of trees he planted having reached maturity.

30 years ago, Liz started a landscape gardening apprenticeship, working for a respected Gippsland based landscaper for 10 years. When her employer decided to move into the education sector Liz started her own business.

Operating a small business is full of challenges, Liz is mindful of continued professional development, she has completed a Diploma of business, extra study in landscape design and an advanced leadership program. Liz is a register builder, a member of Landscaping Victoria and the Master Builders Association.

Liz has a crew of long term skilled employees who she is proud to say are a happy and dedicated team who work great together and a joy to have on side. Most of all Liz loves helping to give everyday people a chance to enjoy the outdoors enriching their lifestyle and making their home their sanctuary.

Liz Filmer Landscaping does much more than ‘plant plants’. Landscaping is quite different to gardening, the two can overlap but there are many extra skills required to carry out professional landscaping works. Most landscaping projects involve elements of carpentry (decks and pergolas), plumbing (irrigation and drainage), electrical (garden lighting and water features), tiling (paving), concreting, stone masonry, machine operation (trenching, levelling, tree removal and demolition), glazing (glass balustrades and pool fences), steel fabrication (arbours, garden edging), bricklaying (walls and fences), rendering (walls and fences). With all this in mind be sure to protect your investment by using a registered landscaper who is professional with regard to quality outcomes.
