About Liz Filmer Landscaping
Why are we one of the most respected and trusted landscape contractors in Greater Gippsland? Hint: It’s not just our youthful looks.
It’s our integrity, and it underpins all our operations.
We respect you and your input, we turn up, and we get things done
We’re not just ‘tradies with utes’ — our years of experience means we know how to get things done and anticipate and solve any problems if they arise.
We care and respect the lands on which we all live and work
We live and work primarily on Gunaikurnai traditional land. Respect for the environment is a foundation of what we do, and the projects we design and build work in harmony with existing and native biodiverse vegetation and the revegetation of degraded areas.
We connect you to the environment
Good times happen in our backyards. While planting a garden helps nature rebuild, it also reinvigorates you! While we’re nurturing our gardens, our gardens are nurturing us.
We respect animals (and critters!) and the places they live
We design spaces that invite in all living things! Gippsland is a varied region from grasslands to rainforests, so we believe it’s essential to design with native animals, birds and insects in mind.
About Liz
Liz started landscaping over 30 years ago. Having grown up on a multifaceted farm in the bush, she has an innate understanding of the limitations and possibilities of working with Mother Nature and the natural sequences of our environment.
Dedicated to always doing things better, Liz has completed a Diploma of Business, extra study in landscape design and an advanced leadership program. Liz is a Registered Builder, a member of Landscape Victoria.
This business is about building sustainably whilst regenerating the natural environment, starting with the soil. While we are nurturing our gardens, our gardens are nurturing us back.
Liz Filmer Landscaping has always been a team effort, with Ross as Liz’s long-time righthand man and a talented, experienced trades team. But we’re not just ‘tradies with utes’ — we’re highly skilled professionals guided by our integrity.
Ross (Rosco)
Concreter and second guru of all things construction.
Ross may look like a burnt-out concreter but there are still a few good years left in him yet. It’s his brain we value most anyway.
Hobbies: Lawn bowls and Richmond football club.
Beverly (Bevo)
Administration Manager and trailblazer.
Bev is a lady of substance and significance keeping the office ticking—please don’t get hit by a bus anytime soon Bev!
Hobbies: Fishing and holidays.
Gregg (Dickie-knee)
Carpenter and guru of all things construction.
Full of vitality and energy, we think he’s a descendant of the meerkat (not to mention the physical resemblance).
Hobbies: Collecting old stuff and never throwing any of it out.
Dennis (Spotto)
Workshop manager and stand-by barrow pusher.
Dennis is also our HR manager, incognito. Over a frothy or two, Dennis can be a good ear.
Favourite sport: Car racing and Friday night frothys at the RSL.
Matthew (Matt—yes, I know, not very original)
Civil engineer and third guru of all things construction.
A background of engineering and design gives Matt a unique skill set to not only create beautiful things but ensure they work, too.
Hobbies: Surfing and sunshine.
“We completely recommend Liz and her team, they are wonderful, highly-skilled, fabulous and fun to work with… the results delivered are always above and beyond what we hoped for.”
